Muddy Brook Regional Elementary School Early Childhood Program Information

Our early childhood philosophy at Muddy Brook is to meet children where they are and engage in socialization, play, music, physical education, art, mathematics and literacy with joy. Each classroom becomes a community of learners with students learning to take turns, find their passions, and be contributing members of a larger group.

Integrated Pre-Kindergarten
This program is for district residents and serves 15 students who are three years old by September 1.  Students enroll through the IEP process, or through the peer partner lottery. Peer partners serve as role models for students with Individualized Education Plans.  The program is staffed with an early childhood teacher who has additional certification in special education. The Pre-Kindergarten day begins at 8:30 and ends at 2:00.  The program is free of charge for enrolled students. We are unable to provide transportation for peer partners.

Early Kindergarten
This program is for district residents and serves between 15 – 18 students. Students in the Early Kindergarten program turn four by September 1. Students from our Pre-Kindergarten will have priority enrollment. Remaining spots are filled by lottery. Students who live in the district and have attended a screening are eligible for the lottery. The Early Kindergarten day is from 8:40 to 3:15. The program is free of charge for enrolled students and transportation is provided.

Kindergarten
The Kindergarten program is for all district residents who have turned five by September 1. We also accept school choice when space is available.
